Colossal Cave Mountain Park

On the National Register of Historic Places, Colossal Cave Mountain Park is a 2,400-acre desert park. The Park showcases Colossal Cave and La Posta Quemada Ranch, a 128-year-old working ranch.

Colossal Cave was officially "discovered" in 1879, but archaeological findings show that the cave had been used for centuries by prehistoric peoples. Guided tours and advanced caving treks are conducted on a daily basis.

La Posta Quemada Ranch has been a working ranch since the 1870's, and is currently a cow-calf operation. The ranch headquarters house is an historical museum and research library. Exhibits explain the human and natural history of Colossal Cave Mountain Park and the Cienega Corridor.
