50,000 years ago a meteor ended its 500 million year long race through space in a collision with earth. In a blinding flash, it struck with an explosive force greater than 20 million tons of TNT.

Experience the Impact – at Meteor Crater! See and touch the largest meteorite found at the site. Take a guided hike on the rim. Explore the most extensive interactive display of meteor impact science of its type in the world.

Experience artifacts from early exploration and scientific study of the crater. Interact with computer simulation of meteorite collisions. Spend time in the fully air-conditioned, modern Discovery Center which features an 80 seat wide screen theater. View an actual Apollo NASA test capsule and American Astronaut Wall of Fame located in the Visitors Center courtyard. Explore the Rock Shop, great for collectors young and old.
